[Premiere] Spanish singer-songwriter MAVICA shares intoxicating new single “No It’s Not”
London based Spanish singer-songwriter MAVICA (Marta Casanova) today shares her new single “NO IT’S NOT,” an intoxicating track led by a delicately plucked acoustic guitar and MAVICA’s crystalline voice. On the track, MAVICA thoughtfully employs synth flourishes and vocoder effects to amplify the emotional quotient.
“It’s a song shrouded in honesty, where I admit I haven’t been good to myself and that expectation will often let you down,” MAVICA shares about the track. “But it’s good to acknowledge this and move on. Through this I realise that my work is a time machine that I can use to look backwards in order to arrive at some point of understanding where I was and where I am at now, accepting change is can only be good.”
Originally from Cartagena (Spain), MAVICA currently resides in London where she
finally found the place and environment to materialise her debut EP “Gone.” Drawing comparisons with Phoebe Bridgers and Bon Iver, she’s been recognised by critics as an artist to watch.
“NO IT’S NOT” appears on her forthcoming sophomore EP “Send me to the Water,” out on Friday.
