We here are FAULT are huge vintage enthusiasts. In our Issue 10, stylist such as Tallulah Harlech (FAULT’s chief stylist) and Luke Storey all worked with and pulled vintage pieces for their editorials. CHANEL being one of our favourites, we meet Keiko (of Keiheart Vintage) based in Japan, from whom we have received many authentic one-off designer vintage pieces. We spoke with Keiko about her expertise in the field and what to look for when buying vintage designer goods.

 

FAULT: Keiko how are you?

Keiko: I’m doing great, thank you.

FAULT: Can you tell us how long you have been collecting and selling vintage designer pieces for?

Keiko: I’ve been collecting for as long as a I can remember and started selling pieces for almost 8 years now.

FAULT: What made you decide to start your own business?

Keiko: Collecting pieces for myself was really a lot of fun but then my friends started to purchase pieces from me and that’s kind of how it all began.

FAULT: Why did you choose the name Keiheart vintage for your store?

Keiko: Oh dear, there isn’t really much of a story to it, actually no story at all… simply I (my name) heart (love) vintage.

FAULT: What are some of the designers that you carry?

Keiko: We mainly carry CHANEL, GUCCI, YSL, DIOR and sometimes CELINE, ROBERTA DI CAMERINO, VERSACE.

FAULT: What is the best advice to give someone, shopping on-line for authentic Vintage pieces such as CHANEL?

Keiko: I would advise to try to do as much research as possible before making any expensive purchases. Ask questions or for additional photos if necessary. Keiko: There’s so many it’s hard to pick one but currently, a CHANEL multi strand pearl & gripoix stone necklace. It is breathtaking.

FAULT: How often do you receive new, vintage pieces?

Keiko: We receive pieces every week.

FAULT: For someone just starting to collect vintage designer, would piece do you think they should start off with first IE, handbag, necklace, bracelet?

Keiko: I would recommend starting off with accessories, especially a necklace or a bracelet.They’re so fun to wear and just looking at them can make your day a bit happier :)
