Principe di Bologna’s SS26 campaign ‘La Siesta Primavera’ leans into a slower, more intentional vision of summer. Set at Barcelona’s Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc (which notably played host to Dua Lipa for her ‘Illusion’ video), the imagery balances architectural clarity with soft, sun-washed stillness – a backdrop that allows material, movement and craft to take centre stage.
There’s a recalibration at play here. Rather than overt statements, the collection builds through texture and technique, presenting a version of luxury that feels considered rather than declarative.
Material Matters: Craft as Narrative
At the heart of the collection is a deep commitment to artisanal process. Matte woven finishes, hand-crafted detailing and Tuscan-rooted techniques define the footwear offering. Knotted slingbacks emerge through handmade rafia lavorazione crochet, while the brand shape their kitten-heel mules using the intricate treccia a tubolare method.

These are pieces that reveal themselves over time – in motion, in texture, in the way they interact with light. It’s a quiet luxury that resists immediacy.
Fluid Dressing: Between Ease and Edge
The wider collection expands this language into something more fluid. Sport-inflected sneakers in nylon and suede sit alongside bohemian moccasins and sharply pointed silhouettes, balancing comfort with direction.
Accessories follow suit. Ballet-inspired mesh flats are grounded by structured leather bags, while geometric clutches introduce sharper lines into otherwise soft styling.

For men, the SS26 collections subtly disrupts tradition. Tricolour brogues challenge classic palettes, while naplac leather loafers – constructed using a seamless Tubular technique – prioritise flexibility and comfort without losing formality.

There’s also an underlying playfulness: backpacks replace briefcases, poolside becomes workspace, and accessories blur function and form. As a result, this is a wardrobe built for movement, not rigidity.

About Principe di Bologna: An Evolving History
Founded in 1961 by brothers Ulderico and Quinto Pistonesi, Principe di Bologna continues to bridge heritage craftsmanship with contemporary cultural cues. SS26 feels like a natural evolution – one that favours restraint, precision and atmosphere over noise.
