Hercules & Love Affair

Hercules & Love Affair have shared the official music video for the single ‘Someone Else Is Calling‘. The release, announced by H&LA’s creative force Andy Butler, precedes the EP of the same name, which is set to be released via Stratasonic Records this month. 

Made in collaboration with Paranoid London’s Quinn Whalley and Icelandic vocalist Elín Ey, the EP returns to their roots of dancefloor melodies and classic house grooves. The four-track release grew from sessions that began in Iceland while they were working on material for another project.

Directed by and co-starring Tatsumi Milori, the video offers a vivid portrayal of Mexico City’s queer community. Filmed across Xochimilco, Centro, and several intimate indoor spaces, it follows Milori, Elín Ey, and a group of friends and collaborators as they dance, rehearse, laugh, and explore the city. The result feels grounded and warm, reflecting the spirit of the upcoming EP.

Milori describes the project as something that appeared unexpectedly. She first heard the track while showering and instinctively began to dance, drawn to its dreamy vocals layered over a dark, Gothic-influenced beat. Shot in Mexico with a talented crew of femmes, the experience felt to her like building a small queer family.

The location was chosen deliberately, reflecting Butler’s deep connection to Mexico. He feels the country has shaped him through its beauty, resilience, and warmth, as well as through some of the most meaningful shows he has ever performed. Filming in Mexico City became a way to honor that bond.

The upcoming EP Someone Else Is Calling marks a new chapter for Hercules & Love Affair. It arrives after their first run of live performances in seven years, a return that has revived the project’s energy and emotional depth.

Next year, they will perform on February 14 at Astra in Berlin, Germany, closing the tour that began in November.
