patch_t41b: Former Club Kuru Frontman Drops Immersive and Inquisitive Debut Single ‘dust’
patch_t41b is the name of a new project from classically trained pianist and former Club Kuru frontman Laurie Erskine. The new venture represents a step into a bold new sonic realm – one in which human fragility meets machine logic, and melody dissolves into memory.
Erskine’s debut track under his new moniker, ‘dust’, is a haunting, exploratory piece that drifts between ambient texture and experimental improvisation. Loose, unresolved piano lines float through a fog of distorted synths and ghostlike vocal fragments. The result is a sound full of cracks, echoes, and the emotional residue of something once whole.
Drawing influence from the likes of Burial, Terry Riley and Beth Gibbons, Erskine builds a sound that feels post-human yet deeply personal – a space where the analogue meets the digital.
‘dust’ is the first glimpse of EP_01, arriving later this year. If this track is anything to go by, patch_t41b promises to be one of the most quietly radical new voices in experimental music.
