Fragments Americana | California Dreamin | Anthology of a Decade

February and March will be the months of Hedi Slimane and everybody who is a lover of his work. Two exhibitions and the release of his new book ‘Anthology of a Decade’ which includes 600 black & white pictures are coming and promise for sure not to be a bore.

People who have ever heard the history of Hedi Slimane will know that beside fashion photography always played a main roll in his life and his typical signature are of course the black & white and mostly edgy and androgynous pictures which are always a feast for the eyes and worthwhile to have a look at, not only if you are a fan of his abstract work.

The first exhibition and the start of the Slimane marathon is ‘Fragments Americana’, which is Hedi’s first-ever exhibition in Brussel and will be shown in the Almine Rech Gallery from February 25th till March 26th. Followed by ‘California Dreamin: Myths & Legends of Los Angeles’ which will be launched in the same gallery in Paris only one day later. This one, curated by Hedi, will feature the works of several artists such as Dennis Hopper, Joel Morrison, Mike Kelley or John Baldessari and is also running until March 26th. – Definitely the one I’m most excited about! So if you are living in Brussel or in Paris and search for a nice exhibition, those appear with a high probability to be two very interesting opportunities.
