Endless Forms releases new single ‘I Want It All’
Endless Forms
Throughout the last few months, fast-rising dream-pop artist Endless Forms has been busy readying us for his highly-anticipated new album The House Of Love. With previous efforts ‘Into The Swarm’, ‘A Door That Disappears’ and ‘Make Me Feel Too Much’ already finding praise and acclaim across countless tastemakers, he is back once again with the record’s fourth outing ‘I Want It All’.
Bringing back more of that warm and illustrious aesthetic he has built for himself over the years, ‘I Want It All’ makes for a wonderfully rich and immersive listen. Capturing a tender yet euphoric atmosphere throughout his latest offering, this new release stands as one of his most passionate and emotive to date.
Speaking about the song’s meaning, he said, “I still have my future ahead of me, but as I move through life, I have a lot of guaranteed loss ahead of me. Everyone alive right now will eventually pass away. That means that, best case scenario, there’s some grief waiting for me in the future. But even with all of that, there’s this need to keep searching, keep enjoying, and keep wondering, fostering a kind of positive dissatisfaction. This song is a sort of celebration of everything we want but don’t have. Waking up in the morning and feeling a burning desire is a sign of health and passion.”
‘I Want It All’ also arrives with a stunning new video, created by director and DP Rachel Rector, the photographic artist behind a number of his previous videos including ‘Crammed With Heaven,’ ‘Drowned In Nuance’ and ‘Electric Heat Hypnotized.’
Adding about the new video, “For the video for “I Want It All,” Rachel and I wanted to create something deceptive in its simplicity. What’s deceptive about the video is that there is actually extremely little colour correction. Almost all of the coloration effects were achieved using only physical lens filters and perspective. The result is that many of the shots feel strange, cerebral, and abstract, but are literally just unedited, unaltered footage of the physical world.
“I love the way that Rachel captures familiar settings and objects and reveals them as having this extra, ethereal layer. She takes what we think we know and renders it as haunted with lightness. By adding an additional lens to look through, she’s actually able to remove a layer from what we see. And she does it all practically, in the sense that she doesn’t digitally alter her photos to give them those qualities. Her whole process is so physical.”
