Over the last few years, Amsterdam artist Raven Artson has been at the forefront of the modern glitch-pop movement. Artson blends his spiritual mix of glossy pop textures with a distinctly inventive ideal. His innovative nature across all the fields of his art is a factor behind his ascent in recent month. This has become the focus of his latest studio album Transformia, a record brimming with broad and immersive textures.

By creating a wonderfully rich and compelling direction throughout this new collection, Artson quickly cements himself as one of the more fascinating names on the rise today. And while the Netherlands acts as his current home, the artist has also been able to embed his work throughout Los Angeles and New York in recent times. That gives his innovative direction a multinational feel that breaks down both language and international barriers with its emotive nature.

In his own words, he explained that:

“Transformia is a story that uses the transformative quality of romance as a vessel for self-understanding and development. It’s as much a lyrical as a sonic story, with each song succeeding the next chronologically.”

In order to heighten the level of understanding behind his latest full length release, Raven Artson has collaborated with FAULT Magazine to create a series of striking visuals that perfectly illustrate his expressive nature. Working with photographer Lonneke van der Palen, stylist Moritz Hädelt, and make up artist Dean van Zanten, he was able to create a riveting string of accompaniments that deliver a sense of alluring warmth to his newest material, inviting a more cosmic blend of influences to his passionate guise.

Describing the new visuals, he added. “Playing with themes of mythology and love placed in a contemporary setting allowing the protagonist to ascend and transform like in the album Transformia.”
