LML Studio launched their AW23 collection CUM DEDERIT at Berlin Fashion Week

LML Studio

Words: Miles Holder

LML Studio AW23 presentation seemed an emotional experience for many. A studio known for their re-tailoring of unique and otherwise forgotten garments, this presentation represented far more than just fashion.

Entitled Cum Dederit, the collection featured captivating pieces that were reflective of the changes we have experienced during this transitional period both seasonally and as a fashion industry.

Recycled fabric and embellishments once more permeated the collection but the project goal was also to explore a unique interpretation of christianity. Taking place in a historic church, they aimed to inspire dialogue of fashion and christian identity. Keeping to tradition, many of the garments featured natural elements and darker earthy tones, however there were welcome breakages from this theme with paint splattered jackets being a FAULT Favourite.

The line embraces the modern era and brings back classic silhouettes, something undoubtedly fitting to LML Studio’s entire ethos. It shouldn’t be downplayed how much spirituality played a role in both the creation of this collection and the presentation as a whole. With an impassioned and show-stopping performance from Luc Bruyere taking place on the hallowed grounds it’s clear LML Studio still has much to offer, a Europe desperately seeking some peace.
