Lose My Mind: Nico Cann soars on latest single release

Lose My Mind: Nico Cann

London-based pop-rock artist Nico Cann continues to win plaudits and build momentum with his latest release ‘Lose My Mind’, a dreamlike, emotionally charged single which dropped on August 29, 2025. Blending shimmering guitars with reflective lyrics, the track explores the blurry space between memory and imagination where childhood innocence meets adult disillusionment.

Built around a nostalgic guitar riff and closing with a soaring solo from longtime friend Nicholas Richards, the song evokes a kind of melancholic freedom. “It’s about a past that never really existed,” Cann says. “That feeling of instinctive love and emotion before life became complicated.”

Written during a winter trip to Milan, the track channels the open-hearted spirit of the late ’80s, echoing influences like Bruce Hornsby and Don Henley, but filtered through Cann’s gravel-edged voice and cinematic songwriting style.

While Cann has always demonstrated a reverence for musical history – he recorded his debut single at Abbey Road Studios – his approach feels less like homage and more like reinterpretation. His earlier work, including the emotionally-charged ‘Light Over the Ridge’, earned widespread acclaim from music critics, both in the UK and further afield.

With each release, Cann seems to grow more confident in his ability to capture the essence of music industry giants while simultaneously moving the needle in his preferred genre. And so it is on ‘Lose My Mind’: Nico Cann continues to carve out a distinct sound: equal parts nostalgic and fresh, intimate and anthemic.

Following a string of shows across Europe – including a sold-out headline performance in Milan – Cann is set to play at City Sound Session in The Castle in Shoreditch, East London on October 24.
