Obed Padilla drops new single, ‘Broncos y Benzes’
Obed Padilla

Oceanside-based Chicano artist Obed Padilla is carving out his own lane in the Latin Alternative scene, blending Latin hip-hop, streetwise charisma, and deep-rooted cultural pride. His latest single, ‘Broncos y Benzes’, is a vibrant, sun-drenched ride through the rhythms and textures of Latin America.
With heritage that stretches from Mexico to Costa Rica to Southern California, Padilla’s music reflects a life lived across borders, both literal and sonic. ‘Broncos y Benzes’ captures that fusion, layering rich beats and vivid storytelling into a track that feels like summer on blast.
Speaking on this new release, Obed shares:
“I’m super excited for ‘Broncos y Benzes’ to be out. I wrote it with Billy Mann and Aftrhrs. We reproduced what we had originally made and it sounds completely different from the OG version. It came out really dope. Everybody who worked on it is super talented and I’m grateful to be in the room with these guys. We’ve had a really fun time exploring different sounds and honing in on what I think is really special and needed in culture. I really can’t wait for all the new music to drop.”
The single follows his genre-defying EP, They Told Us There’s 2 Types of Mexicans, a standout project featuring collaborations with Eddie Zuko and Austin Sexton. The EP showcased Padilla’s skill for blurring lines between tradition and modernity, mixing cultural commentary with infectious hooks. Padilla also recently dropped a surprise mixtape, ‘Minute Made Mixtape’, on Bandcamp, which was an unfiltered, DIY collection that further cements his reputation as one of the most exciting voices in Latin hip-hop right now.
With the second half of 2025 underway, Padilla shows no signs of slowing down. With ‘Broncos y Benzes’, he delivers a summer anthem that’s as much about celebration as it is about identity.
