Junaco: ‘Escape’ Is a Quiet Search for Peace in a Noisy World
Junaco

The duo Junaco returns with ‘Escape‘, a song that feels like a deep breath amid the noise of the world. This is the second single from their upcoming album, In Motion, and it explores a universal idea: how to find calm as we grow older and move through life’s uncertainties.
Musically, ‘Escape’ flows gently and unhurriedly. It’s a quiet track, built on a minimalist foundation that gives every element room to breathe. The guitar is warm, the string arrangements by Oliver Hill (Coco) add emotional depth, and the overall production feels intimate and sincere. It’s one of those songs that invites you to close your eyes and drift away.
Shahana Jaffer’s voice has a serene but grounded presence. She doesn’t need to raise her voice to express emotion; instead, her delivery is marked by introspection, which immediately draws the listener in. There’s no unnecessary ornamentation—just truth and vulnerability.
Recorded at Sonic Ranch (El Paso, Texas), the single reflects the spirit in which the album was created: isolation, nature, and time to think. Junaco spent a season in Northern California living simply, without internet or distractions. That environment shaped songs like ‘Escape’, which feel like they come straight from the soul.
“With limited daylight and no access to the internet, it really felt like we were living in our own magical little world, and the music just started appearing from there. Most of the songs felt like they came about really quickly.”
‘Escape’ doesn’t offer magical answers, but it gives us a moment to pause and reflect. We all escape in different ways, searching for peace. Junaco sets that shared quest to music and, in doing so, reminds us we’re not alone.
