Dramatic and raw, Gina Zo’s new single, ‘Only Bad Men Make Me Feel This Way‘, dives headfirst into the emotional chaos of a toxic relationship that’s hard to leave behind. Following the release of ‘Dirty Habits‘, this track further sharpens Gina’s identity as a solo artist.

Produced and engineered by Grammy winner Tim Sonnefeld (Zach Bryan, Jazmine Sullivan, Usher), the alt-pop/folk track is paired with a visually striking music video directed by Jordan Fox. Here, Gina merges her love for true crime dramas with her musical storytelling, creating a 03:27 dark comedy piece that plays with contradiction.

Switching between black-and-white and color, the video tells the story of a seemingly perfect relationship unraveling into violence, instigated by her. The cycle repeats until one of the two ends up dead, though the final victim remains ambiguous. While the tone leans toward irony and absurdity, the color scenes snap the viewer back to a painful reality. In those moments, Gina’s expressions shout catharsis more than comedy.

Gina Zo is a multidimensional performer who uses music as both a declaration of identity and a vehicle for liberation. Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia and now based in Los Angeles, she first entered the music scene at 18, signing with an indie label. But her introduction to the industry was far from glamorous.

After a period of disillusionment that pulled her away from performing, it was a painful breakup that reignited her creative spark—this time, not just as a solo artist, but as the frontwoman of the gritty rock band Velvet Rouge. Their debut EP, produced by Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey (The War on Drugs, Dr. Dog, Sharon Van Etten), fused early-2000s rock energy with a raw emotional core. Tracks like ‘Lonely Since The Day We Met’ and ‘I Don’t Know Why’ serve as battle cries for self-reclamation, sung straight from the emotional void.

From her early days as a contestant on The Voice to her powerful coming out as bisexual on the single ‘Faking It’, Gina has consistently used her platform to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and personal truth. Now, with ‘Only Bad Men Make Me Feel This Way’, she offers her most intimate work to date.

Gina Zo is making a statement: she’s here to stay. With talent, heart, and relentless discipline, she’s carving out a space for herself in an industry that rarely plays fair, but she’s playing by her own rules.
