Chase emerges with her exceptional debut single, Pretend Again
Chase

Marking a striking entrance onto the scene, Chase shares her cinematic and introspective debut single, ‘Pretend Again’.
“I didn’t intend for something so intimate to become a song. But songs have a funny way of finding you—and giving you language for the things you didn’t know you needed to name.”
Produced by Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Florist, Tomberlin) at his studio in NYC, today’s release serves as a flawless introduction to Chase’s artistry. The timeless quality of her vocals heightens the impact of her poetic lyricism, as she reflects on transformative moments of clarity.
Sharing more, Chase explains:
“It’s interesting how whole revelations can begin with a single question. For me, it was a little bit like finding a stray thread hanging off the edge of a sweater. Once I started pulling, the answers came to me in the form of whole unravelings.
This song is my story of walking the holy ground of pure possibility: of being, all at once, the most terrified and the most overwhelmingly free I’ve ever felt. It’s the sound and shape of the grief that comes with realizing the world I built my worth around was a lie, and the destabilizing truth that the lie was never me.”
Born in Georgia, USA, Chase gravitated toward music from an early age. Her sound—shaped by a melting pot of influences including Etta James, Nat King Cole, Celine Dion, Billy Joel, and Adele—has evolved into something distinctly her own. Those early inspirations, combined with her innate ability to write honest and expressive lyrics, position her as an exciting new artist to watch.
