Courtney Hadwin Premiere: ‘You Only Love Me When I Lie’ Video Ahead of Debut Album

Courtney Hadwin – You Only Love Me When I Lie

Courtney Hadwin’s journey from a 13?year?old America’s Got Talent sensation to a confident, genre?bending artist reaches a new milestone today with the premiere of her official video for You Only Love Me When I Lie. It’s the lead single from her forthcoming debut album, Little Miss Jagged, due for release on 12 September 2025.

In the new video – Hadwin presents herself not as the child star the world first met, but as a young woman determined to define her own narrative. “A big part of my journey and this song was showing and telling how I’m no longer that kid everyone wants me to be,” she explains. Her voice, already reminiscent of Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, now carries a maturity and urgency shaped by years of songwriting and real?life experiences.

Little Miss Jagged was crafted in Memphis with Grammy?winning producer Kevin Bowe (Etta James, Joe Cocker) and moves effortlessly across hard rock, Motown, funk, punk and epic balladry. Each track captures a moment of coming?of?age – whether written in moments of triumph or in the midst of hardship – and reveals a performer whose soulful power is matched only by her authenticity. “This is the most personal I’ve ever been in my songwriting,” Hadwin admits.

To celebrate the album ahead of its September arrival, Courtney will headline London’s Fiddler’s Elbow on 30 May. Fans can experience her live band’s full?throttle energy – and see why her performances have been described as FAULTLess in their intensity and passion. Tickets and pre?save links are available now.
