Altara drops new music video for ‘pleasedontleave’

Today, emerging Irish singer-songwriter Altara dropped a new video for recent release ‘pleasedontleave’.
Taken from his sophomore EP asp, which is out now, the track pays homage to Altara’s early love for EDM and fizzes with a buoyant energy that’s hard to resist. It comes as no surprise to learn that he’s previously written tracks for the likes of Charli XCX and Ariana Grande.
Altara shot the video with friend and fellow artist Nova May. He shared more about the process, explaining:
“It was quite spontaneous, but we were feeling really inspired after bouncing ideas over dinner, so we just went for it. It was the spur of the moment, which feels really apt for this whole project since it all came about so naturally and intuitively. I’m glad the music and visuals are authentic, as it means that both the music and the project’s energy can speak for themselves.”
Having just launched his career in August with impressive debut single Somebody to Lose, Altara quickly won over listeners with his powerful introduction. Never one to keep people waiting, he followed up with his debut EP The Lobby in November, earning much acclaim and support from music fans and critics alike.
2025 saw Altara kick things off with the audio release of pleasedontleave and, earlier this month, he shared his follow-up EP asp. This trio of vivid electro-pop bops makes today’s video the perfect icing on the cake.
It’s early days, but this is an artist who seems to have already mastered the recipe for crafting catchy, EDM-inspired pop tunes that will leave listeners ready to dance away their worries and leave their crushes on read without a second thought. As Altara’s style and sound continue to evolve, we’re excited to hear what he cooks up next!
