Sampha Teams Up with Little Simz on “Satellite Business 2.0”

In an exciting collaboration, Sampha and Little Simz have come together to release the new single “Satellite Business 2.0.” Out now via Young, this track is a fully-realised version of the interlude “Satellite Business” from Sampha’s acclaimed 2023 album, LAHAI.
Sampha’s LAHAI, which earned a nomination for the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards, has been described as “music making of real ambition, poignancy and beauty” by The Sunday Times and “sublime” by The Guardian. With “Satellite Business 2.0,” Sampha expands on this musical landscape by bringing in Little Simz, whose music has been a personal favorite of his for years.
Little Simz first heard “Satellite Business” live during Sampha’s residency shows in London and Brooklyn in June 2023. The live performances were intimate, featuring Sampha and his band experimenting in the round, and they were rapturously received by fans. Little Simz was particularly taken by the track during the Brooklyn show and later joined Sampha on stage at his sold-out hometown show at London’s Alexandra Palace, which also featured appearances by Ghetts, Lil Silva, Jessie Ware, and Kokoroko’s Sheila Maurice-Grey.
Speaking about the collaboration, Sampha said, “’Satellite Business’ was one of the last tracks to be recorded for LAHAI and I’d always imagined a guest verse to expand on it. Simz’s music has been close to my heart and ears for some time now, which makes her being on this song that much more special. She’s one of my favorite artists. Her confidence and creative bravery are so refreshing; it’s amazing to see someone giving so much to their art.”
Little Simz shared similar sentiments: “I’m so honored to be a part of this record with Sampha. He truly is one of the most important voices in music today. We have great musical chemistry and respect for each other’s process. Glad I got to stand alongside him on this.”
