When Acting is the Only Life you Know

Childhood is anything but ordinary when your acting career begins at age 9. Emma Roberts was not pushed into acting by her mother, but spending time in the studio with Aunt Julia Roberts may have inspired Emma. Her father, Eric Roberts, had been absent from her life since she was 7 months old, but sometimes acting gets in your blood. While Julia introduced her to the ins and outs of filming on sets, Emma did not try copying her famous aunt but chose her own style.

Close to her Mother

Actress Kelly Cunningham is Emma’s mother, and they share a close relationship. While both parents gush pubically over their daughter’s talent, loving nature, and willingness to succeed, little is shared about their private lives with the media. Emma attended the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles while pursuing an acting career.

A Star is Born

When Emma tried out for her first role in the crime film Blow (2001), her winning streak only increased. Unfabulous (2004-2007), a Nickelodeon TV series, brought popularity to nice-girl teen shows of the 2000s. Over the next 5 years, several movies, from dramas and comedies to horror films, kept bringing out the best in Emma. With no formal training, Emma seemed natural at capturing the hearts of audiences. She has never relied on her name for parts and has been turned down many times, but her love of art kept her going.

Personal Endeavors

Emma has interests in music, fashion, and English Literature. In 2020, Emma Roberts and her then-boyfriend, Garrett Hedlund, became the parents of Rhodes Robert Hedlund. While the couple split 1 year after the baby’s arrival, Rhodes is the love of Emma’s life. There have been several friendships and romantic flings, but none have been anything else so far. Emma appears to have a good head on her shoulders and has her priorities in order.

A Portfolio to be Proud of

We have all enjoyed growing up with Emma in her performances. Here are just a few memorable films:

  • 2006 – Aquamarine
  • 2008 – Wild Child
  • 2011 – Scream 4
  • 2013 – American Horror Story
  • 2015 – Scream Queens
  • 2020 – Holidate

The road has not always been pleasant, with growing up in the spotlight and having tabloids exposing her every move. However, Emma’s choices in films have made her a massive hit for the public. We cannot wait to see what future performances will bring as Emma continues through her adulthood.
