Savoy release new single, ‘Life and Times of a Wannabe’
Savoy, the musical venture led by a-ha‘s Paul Waaktar-Savoy, navigates the intricate realms of indie-rock with a unique fusion of somber, evocative tones and shimmering synth pop influences. The band, consisting of Paul’s wife, Lauren Savoy and drummer, Frode Unneland, promises a diverse exploration of pop songs with a New York edge.
With a remarkable journey spanning back to 1994, Savoy draws inspiration from the 80s, seamlessly incorporating elements of new wave and goth into their music, resulting in a timeless sound.
Their latest single, ‘Life and Times of a Wannabe’, serves as a vibrant showcase of their musical versatility. Infectious electric guitar riffs and an energetic indie drum rhythm set the stage, accompanied by Paul’s layered vocal melodies. Catchy flute melodies shine throughout, while tambourines drive the track forward with an uplifting quality. The band are gearing up for the release of their upcoming album under Eleventeen Records.
