Le Labo Lavande 31 Review: A Modern take on Lavender
In the heart of Berlin, we attended the launch of Le Labo’s Lavande 31 – a modern take on a perfumery classic. Founded in 2006, Le Labo has been on a mission to revolutionise the world of perfumery and what better way to test their creative metal than to bring Lavender scents into the 21st century.
Lavender scents have long been in need of a PR rebrand, often conjuring thoughts of the elderly or seen as an old fashioned fragrance, Le Labo has sought to break the curse with their Lavande 31 release and succeeded.
Lavande 31’s use of bergamot and neroli blends seamlessly into the lavender punch upon testing, resulting in a pleasant light fragrance. The base notes, typical of a Le Labo creation, include the enticing blend of spicy and musky amber, intertwined with the soothing tonka. If you are able to visit the store in person, we found testing the fragrance scored more highly upon skin contact compared to the testing strip – every note counts!
The heart of Lavande 31 is where the magic happens. The lavender used in this fragrance hails from the renowned fields of Provence, and the vertical distillation process employed ensures an unprecedented level of purity and freshness.
Many commented on the pure, light and fresh feelings conjured by the fragrance and we’re inclined to agree. Le Labo set out to reimagine a classic and in doing so, have created a fragrance that stands as a testament to the power of innovation and the art of reimagining the familiar.
Lavande 31 is available in a range of sizes, including 1.5 ml, 15 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml, and a 500 ml Eau de Parfum bottle, as well as a 10 ml Travel Tube Set (set of 3) and Travel Tube Case.
