Philipp Plein Fall/Winter ’23 “Chrome Cowboy”

Philipp Plein debuted “Chrome Cowboy” at Milan Fashion Week giving the crowd yet another extravaganza. The show opened with loud roars from a cluster of motorcyclists riding down the runway. The models straddled up as they transcended into a world that is a glam punk twilight twisted on the Wild West.

The dames made their exit out first; flashing an array of sparkling stetsons, shiny boots and tasseled leather threads. Eye crushing and illuminating; sprinkled sparkling tassels sway back and forth dangling from the rim of a cowboy hat, adorned with silver ringed armor, and studded sunglasses and belts are just a few of the touches that accentuate this collections essence. The use of bright colors, denim, black, and cheetah print, (just to name a few), all in one collection, give us the dynasty gaudy, meshing the many merry differing aesthetics executed tastefully, as Plein is known for his maximalist designs.

The cowboys followed, with a the absence of color and a focus on the hardcore bold black neutrals, emboldened chromed classic silver and workwear denim. From studded denim, embellished blazers, detailed leather, to unique streetwear; traditional staples are reimagined into fashion forward futuristic maximalism.

Futuristic touches regaled the looks in Plein’s third cowboy inspired show. Just when you think the show is complete, and you have seen all you may see, Philipp Plein speeds down the catwalk on a motorcycle followed by singer Bia and the entourage of models behind her. A grand finale for an over the top show was the only adequate ending.
