Zero-Effort Ways to Dress Up an Outfit

Any look can be dressed up or down but trying to dress up a casual outfit isn’t always the easiest thing to do. We are coming into winter now which means that you need to start looking at your outerwear as well as your inside wear when it comes to dressing well. Most people find themselves dressing up in their hats and scarves to get on the train to work only to have to strip half of it off because the heating means they’re going to boil.

Pulling over the Moncler jacket and adding a hat is great if you know that you’re going out to walk in the snow, but if you want to stay looking stylish then choosing chic outerwear is a start. You want to dress up an outfit and know that you’re going to look good no matter where you go, so here are some tips to help you out.

  • Start with your shoes. A simple T-shirt and jeans can be instantly transformed when you’re wearing heels instead of trainers. When it comes to your outerwear, a long overcoat that has been belted at the waist and has fur around the collar can often look nicer than a plain Parka coat. Making sure that you are dressing for the season is important, because you can still dress up your jeans and T shirts with boots instead of sneakers if that’s what you’re aiming to do. Starting with your shoes will mean you are going from the ground up.
  • Carry the right bag. You don’t often think about the handbags that you use when you are putting together your clothes for the day, but if you want to dress up a look you need to consider swapping out the slouchy tote for a bag that is more structured. This can upgrade your vibe and make you look stylish no matter where you are going.
  • Add a hair clip. Where in your hair down can look beautiful but adding a clasp clip and flowing your hair up into a low bun with a loose updo can help you to look more elegant. A sleek ponytail with a spritz of Hairspray in place will make you look far more put together in the office then just leaving your head down and untouched. Working in the right accessories can help you to finish the look.
  • Don’t forget the bling. Classic jewelry looks fantastic no matter what you’re wearing. A pair of shiny earrings whether you are wearing studs or hoops looks nice even against outerwear with the weather ahead. Just make sure that whatever you wear doesn’t snag on your scarf or hat, nobody needs to have their lobes torn when they’re pulling that off too fast.
  • Wear the right jacket. If it’s freezing cold outside and you have to wear a thicker coat, make sure that you are not wearing too many layers underneath that coat. The coat should keep you as warm as you need to be and you could always keep a spare cardigan or sweater in your bag.
