Impeccably talented and a songwriting pen like no other, Haiti Babii is one of the most exciting talents of this year. We caught up with Haiti to find out more about his process, his music and his FAULTs.

How are you doing?

Haiti Babii: Great, taking it day by day appreciating life.

Who is the real Haiti Babii?

Haiti Babii: I’m a songwriter, Musician, father and creator.

How did you get your name?

Haiti Babii: I found out I was Haitian about 4 or 5 years ago. I named myself Haiti Babii to represent self-knowledge and pay homage to my heritage.

How did you come up with such an original sound?


Haiti Babii: The music I grew up on influenced my sound. I grew up listening to artists like Usher, 50 Cent and Tupac.

I know you had an album drop recently; what was the process like?


Haiti Babii: I focused more on the production side. By spending more time writing and being intentional on my lyrics.

What’s your favourite song on the album?

Haiti Babii: Red Velvet produced by Steelz. The song shows my maturity and growth as an artist.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Haiti Babii: Kanye West, because he’s the greatest and Janelle Aiko, she’s from the west coast; her sound and my style would be dope sonically.

How do you stay inspired?

Haiti Babii: Staying close to my family and my supporters that keep me balanced and maintain a positive perspective to keep creating quality content. I do it for them!

How has quarantine affected your creative process?

Haiti Babii: It’s been a perfect storm for me; I was able to put my pain into my music.

What’s next for Haiti Babbii?

Haiti Babii: Collaborating with more artist like Travis Scott, working with different producers such as Dr Dre, 40 Drakes producer and doing more modelling?

What quote do you live by?

Haiti Babii: “Do what you have to until you can do what you want!”
