21 year-old pop artist Benji Brown grew up in Northampton surrounded by music and first started dabbling in the YouTube community 5 years ago posting covers. He’s amassed a niche and loyal following from it and today, Benji officially launches his solo project with his debut single “Déjà Vu.”
Written with prolific producer/songwriter Ben Stancombe (who also worked with the million stream hitting Joe Weller), “Déjà Vu” is as lush as it is effortless. With permeating string textures, the track’s plethora of alluring layers wrap around Benji’s fluid and catchy vocals, with lyrics that cut deep.
Speaking of the single Benji said: “‘Déjà Vu’ is about being in an on/off relationship which turns very toxic. The opening lyrics ‘I’ve been doing fine without you, I know how to, so what about you’ states that I’ve learnt to live without this person and attempt to find something new, but I just keep getting pulled back. Just as the chorus says ‘I just wanna be someone to you’”
