POLO shares dark pop heater “Hula”

Leeds three piece POLO returns this week with “Hula,” a dark, driving pop heater with melodies that’ll dig into your subconscious and keep you dancing for hours after listening. Comprised of Kat McHugh, Luke Lount and Daniel Egdel, POLO balances their natural song-writing abilities and ear for a hook with frank, confessional lyricism.

Their latest single “Hula” boasts finessed production that’s come to define the band’s layered, sophisticated sound. Lyrically, the song is centered around McHugh’s experiences of being drawn though an exhilarating and bewitching night. Speaking on the track, Kat states: “Hula explores the line between fantasy and reality, through my experiences of a wild and unpredictable evening. I wrote the lyrics to this song after a surreal first encounter. The fun really started when we knew there were no trains back from where we were, and we would just have to see where the night took us.”
