Dream Beach reimagines FKA Twigs’ “Cellophane” and more on “Breach” series

Andrew Oliver, the creative mind behind Dream Beach, first garnered attention for his 2014 single “Missing Peace” released with the help of Ryan Hemsworth’s label Secret Songs. Since then Oliver’s fuzzed out experimental electronic sound has been lent to the likes of Tei Shi for an official remix and his original output is even more impressive.

Recently, Oliver finds himself more immersed in his craft than ever; 2018 kicked off with the release of Killavesi’s debut album “Killa,” of which Oliver produced over half of. Oliver also produced 5 tracks on Brooklyn-based rapper DonMonique’s recently released album “Black Kate Moss.” With every release, Oliver shows not only his versatility as a producer, but his strength to incorporate his own distinguished sound into every project he creates.

This week Oliver unveils the second installment of his ongoing Bootleg Series, “Breach,” a collection of cloak and dagger remixes. In the bootlegged work of Bladee, FKA Twigs, Xanman and Trouble, Dream Beach showcases the depth of his musical love throughout four hazy reworks with the standout being his take on “Cellophane.”

“’Cellophane is one of those songs that feels blasphemous to touch, it’s the perfect song in my eyes,” Oliver says about his FKA Twigs flip. “I wrote the melody just thinking about it; I was so mesmerized, not even having the original in a session. I had to rip the video from YouTube because I wanted the sound of her walking down the hallway in my rendition. Each song on this release intimidated me the same way, I wouldn’t let them out if they I didn’t do them justice. One didn’t make the cut but I will definitely play out in sets. Free 03 Greedo though.”
