This week’s playlist comes from Chinese singer, rapper, and songwriter. As it’s Asian Pacific Heritage Month, it’s only appropriate that our first curated playlist of the month comes from one of China’s dominating musicians who’s looking to make his mark worldwide.
KUN’s recently shared the English language single “Hard To Get” that features a rap breakdown in Mandarin, seamlessly melding the two languages over trip-hop inspired production.
So far, KUN has amassed over 5 Million streams on Spotify alone, and he’s well on his way in bringing C-Pop to the global stage. Not surprisingly, KUN completely sold out his first US/UK tour, some dates within minutes. Fan girls lined up around the block in NYC, LA, and San Francisco to catch the 20-year-old sensation in person. KUN sang, danced, and DJ’ed live onstage with his signature visual aesthetic — he has all the makings of a star.
We asked KUN to put together a playlist of some of his current favorite tracks. Listen in below.
Merk & Kremont – Turn It Around
Merk & Kremont are both great producers and DJs. This song is well mixed.
Michael Jackson – Beat It
It’s absolutely the classic. Always on top of my playlist.
DJ Snake x Eptic – Southside
I like both of the DJs, and their collaboration of this song is something that I enjoy. Especially the drop.
Hardwell & Afrojack- Hands Up
This is another collaboration that I like. Both of them have very distinctive styles and they fit well.
Ariana Grande – thank you, next
Ariana Grande is one of my favorite artists, her new album looks ‘effortless’ but it might be the best kind of devotion.
Post Malone – Congratulations ft. Quavo
This is one of my current favorites.
Galantis & Hook N Sling – Love On Me
It’s fun to watch the music video of this song. This song sets a happy mood too.
