The Most Famous Concerts and Shows in Las Vegas
Las Vegas stands is possibly one of the only cities which you can visit and suspend reality, even for just a weekend. The plain ridiculousness of the city has led to supersize resorts, creative attractions, and mind-blowing shows.
In the Entertainment Capital of the World, there’s a show or concert to suit everyone. No matter what your entertainment preferences are, in Vegas, you can be sure that there’s something going on which will provide you with an unforgettable evening.
That being said, it can be hard to figure which shows are actually worth attending. Whilst Vegas is home to some of the world’s biggest and best performances, there’s plenty of tourist-traps too. To help you out, we’ve recruited the help of locals and regular visitors of the city to create a list of must-see events.
Cirque du Soleil
The Cirque du Soleil is a Vegas institution which cannot be missed. Cirque du Soleil actually offer six different resident shows in Vegas at the moment, each which boasts its own unique and incredible performance.
Of the six shows, we’d highly recommend checking out ‘Mystére’, ‘O’ and ‘Michael Jackson ONE’. Mystére was the first Cirque du Soleil production to open in Vegas, all the way back in 1993. Ever since then, the show has been enchanting viewers with its mix of acrobatics, dance and comedy. ‘O’ is an equally mesmerising show which offers aquatic stunts, whilst Michael Jackson ONE is the production company’s tribute to the King of Pop himself.
Celine Dion
Celine Dion took up a residency in Caesar’s Palace in 2003, and has since performed over 1,100 in the venue. The Canadian songstress performs several of her greatest hits throughout the show, as well as songs from other artists, including Ella Fitzgerald and Tina Turner.
The star is joined on-stage by a 31-piece orchestra and the show comes complete with incredible lighting and video effects. The shows climax comes when Dion belts out ‘My Heart Will Go On’ – we advise you bring your tissues, there won’t be a dry eye in the house.
Absinthe
Absinthe has been named the number on greatest show in Las Vegas history, and we can see why. The show mixes circus elements with cabaret and comedy, in a racy and provocative manner. Whils this isn’t the kind of show you can bring your kids to, it manages to convey the whole feel of Las Vegas perfectly.
Located in a red and white tent in The Roman Plaza and Caesar’s Palace, it offers an intimacy which can’t be found at other Vegas performances. In fact, no seat is more than 11 rows from the stage, meaning you’ll have a great view no matter which tickets you buy.
Mat Franco: Magic Reinvented Nightly
Mat Franco is a magician who has been amazing the world ever since he won season nine of America’s Got Talent in 2014. Just a year later, he took up a residency in the LINQ Hotel and Casino and the show is still as popular as ever five years later.
Mat Franco: Magic Reinvented Nightly is a 90 minute performance which mixes awesome magic tricks with light humour, suitable for all audiences. The show is also constantly evolving, which means you could even watch it more than once and you still wouldn’t know what to expect.
