Taking heavy inspiration from the quintessentially British moving landmark that is the River Thames, the AW17 Blood Brother collection poised the question of how the surrounding iconic buildings and abstract oddities of the river reflect London so well.

The collection presented monochromatic prints resembling mapping and cartography of the river. These designs clung to tailored pieces in seasonal boxy long shapes. Detailed embroidery of bold logos in metallic aqua blues covered fluid black silk tops and structured bomber jackets. Designed in mind to battle London’s infamous weather, over-sized navy coats had waxed cotton pockets and a waterproof look that was appropriately utilitarian. The collection was brightened with vivid pops of orange lightweight zipper jackets that featured harness like details. These were paired with loose tracksuit trousers including sportswear stitching down the legs. Grey togged hoodies, the colour of the city skyline, were styled under dark pinstripe blazers, blending comfort with a smart business-like quality, coined as the modern uniform. This show saw the re-launch of Blood Brother accessories. Hats, scarves, bags and wallets all with a hardened practicality finished off an autumn collection that mirrored the glass of London’s buildings and water of the Thames with a desired functionality from London citizens.
