FAULT REVIEWS – Jimmy Choo SS16
Jimmy Choo is kicking it with the kids down at the ramps for SS16 with some flashy sneakers inspired by them.
We were invited to preview the collection at a leisure centre where shoes were hung by their laces along the gym bench coat pegs while models and world champion bladers, BMXers and skaters showed off their moves in the ramps beneath the balcony, dressed to impress in their Choos of course.
Hi-tops in bubble gum blue, lemon yellow, metallic silver and white were given funky contrasting soles for a sense of fun and plimsoles in similar zesty shades featured brogueing, usually reserved for more formal footwear, to continue to mix it up.
The prints were particularly strong this season, injecting playful art into many of the pairs of shoes. From speckled paint flecks to houndstooth to cow print to a geometric liquorish allsorts style print, they were colourful and eyecatching.
Rucksacks were geometrical diamond and square shapes packing a futuristic punch.
More formal styles such as Heffner slippers, derbys and tassled loafers were also on show but SS16 is clearly all about the sneaker and a celebration of the kids who are the original sneaker heads.
