Matthew Miller’s collection for SS15 was a minimal vision; utterly monochrome, clean lines, sharp tailoring. The graphic quality of his pinstripe separates was balanced by a romanticism in accessories, with garland collars that had a certain hardness- pagan ritual meets city slicker. The sharpness of the tailoring was countered by a slouchy silhouette with oversized jackets, dungarees and wide-leg trousers. It is these disruptions of traditional menswear that have made LC:M what it is today and Miller’s collection spoke to the dichotomy of street style/dandy that has become such a foundation of contemporary British menswear. The incorporation of denim grounded the collection in the everyday, but the power of the styling took the looks to another level.
