Joseph – LCM SS15

The Joseph show was a beautifully muted collection, a welcome contrast to days of neon brights, bold prints and brash detailing. In monochrome and olive green, the clothes were simple in silhouette and structure with simple patterns of stripes or polkadots.

As the collection unfolded, a pale orange was introduced, alongside a faded floral print. Both elements added a delicacy to the traditional menswear shapes and sportswear-inspired cut of baseball shirts and bomber jackets. There was an Englishness to this collection that was gentlemanly yet hard-edged, faded and almost Victorian yet streetwear-inspired and raw.

All in all, this balance made a solid statement reflective of an equally solid label.
