As one of the designers at the forefront of redefining menswear, challenging how men dress and generally setting the bar for adventurous men’s style, we’ve been expecting bold new moves from Astrid Anderson.

This season’s show opened to a full-volume mash-up of TLC, with the models striding the catwalk dressed in Tropicana and callipo-coloured silky tracksuits accented with black. The collection featured tiny crop tops, meshes, sports jackets and kimonos, with a direct reference to boxing, the early 90’s and Japanese sportswear.

While Andersen has clearly been building on her trademark looks from previous seasons; referencing the lace oversized tops, the flesh and ab-exposing looks and the luxe tracksuits pants, the brand is defiantly coming out on top. Despite similarities with previous seasons, the collection itself still felt energising and new. What the label produces next will be an important step to further cement it’s place in menswear, as both an innovator and a trend-setter.
