The divine Trinity of a great night out: ‘The Last Word’ pop-up dining event
Welcome to the 3 step guide to a good night out. Number 1: good food. Number 2: good booze (and plenty of it). Number 3: Great music.
Step forward Trinity events: contemporary curators of this divine trio for the discerning diner/reveller. Starting (ironically) with ‘The Last Word’ this December, Trinity have put together a series of dining experiences à la mode, where dinner guests congregate to eat, drink and be merry amidst an exciting backdrop of live contemporary jazz and fusion music.
Drinking – and drinking well – forms a key component in the Trinity philosophy. Their pop up events are named after individual cocktails, which are then created, en masse, by the group’s guest mixologist. In this case, ‘The Last Word’, an enticing blend of gin, lime, green Chartreuse and Marishino liquere will be prepared by experienced mixologist Deano Moncrieffe.
The Trinity ethos seeks to bring together “a Time, a Taste and a Movement” and, as such, ‘The Last Word’ events are set to evoke the jazz-infused aura of the roaring 20s – the time at which the cocktail was first tasted. The popular Top Shelf Band have been booked for the upcoming events, along with the Dalston Gyspy Jazz Trio, swing masters The Red Roosters and more.
Wrap this up with a saliva-inducing menu, one thinks, and it sounds like an evening well-spent. The ‘optional dining menu’, provided by the Disappearing Dining Club (we hope they don’t go absent on the day!), looks to be anything but optional with a ‘tasting and sharing banquet’ that looks fit to grace any table. You can read the full menu on the Trinity website but our eyes quickly jumped to the Mackerel, Prawn & Mussel a la Grecque to start and the main course of Venison, Juniper & All Spice.
Entry to ‘The Last Word’ events is free to members – sign up HERE – before 9.30pm – although we’ve yet to see a price-list for the bar. £6 will reserve you a stage-side cocktail table (no dining) and £54 will land you the full dining package, starting with pre-dinner cocktails at 7:30pm, dinner from 8pm and Trinity’s late license set to regale you with swing and jazz frolics until the small hours (2am close).
We’ll be visiting ‘The Last Word’ on Friday 13th December, so you can expect a full report before too long! In the meantime, check out Trinity on the web for more details:
