LCM roundup: SS’ 14 Menswear – Monday 17th June
Mondays don’t normally start with as much of a bang as they do during London Collections: Men. J.W. Anderson‘s SS ’14 menswear collection was the first to show, with his styles coming across as an extension of his womenswear collection – architectural column inspiration, cutaway asymmetrical details and striped off sleeves, all paired with an oversized trouser. Needless to say, this FAULT Favourite young designer set a very high standard for the rest of the day.
The 1950s era was again very prevalent. Sibling’s “Eastside Story” Collection was an inspiration with a twist from the 1961 version of Jerome Robbins’ “Westside Story” and RAKE had almost a Goodfellas gangster vibe to it.
Rag and Bone designers took a different twist with combat suits and the U.S. Armed Forces:
