In preparation for the much anticipated release of The Dark Knight Rises, a giant 150 foot Batman has appeared at 315 Park Avenue South, New York. But the unique fact about it is that it’s painted by hand. Manhattan has been the location for many hand painted advertisements in the past twenty years.

The 150 foot artwork is broken down into an outline and the spaces are punched out, leaving a giant stencil. It took four artists, including Dan Cohen, five days to complete the mural. However after all the hard work it will only stay for around six to eight weeks and will then be painted over with a new advertisement.

 

The Dark Knight Rises is out on July 20th.
