The new Primadonna !
Looking at her upcoming album cover, Marina and the Diamonds’ greyish hair might lead some to suggest that she’s past it already. Not on our your life, she isn’t. On the contrary, Marina’s new look and sparkling single promise to be the start of something great!
Yesterday saw the release of her latest single ‘Primadonna’: a mixture of dance floor-shaking beats, Marina’s one-of-a-kind vocals and frank, cheeky, self-written lyrics. Produced by Dr Luke, who has worked with the likes of Katy Perry in the past, the track is just as much a contemporary club anthem as it is a nod to the golden age of disco – and has clearly earned the crowds’ approval during Marina’s recent live shows.
But ‘Primadonna’ is just a taster for bigger things to come. Her new album, Electra Heart, will be released 30th April. The record is packed with 12 quirky but winsome tracks, all written and composed by Marina and a carefully picked group of high-profile producers. Electra Heart was recorded in London and LA – the result of a full 18 months of hard work in the studio.
Watch out for the big smile, the cheeky voice and the pastel-retro look, because Marina and the Diamonds is taking the stage!
