WOW. Meadham Kirchhoff Spring Summer 2012

 What you’re seeing is actually real. I swear. This is the scene from Meadham Kirchhoff’s Spring Summer 2012 show, and to say that it was playfully dramatic in all sense of bright coloured dolly-ness would honestly be a total under statement. This catwalk was one that took fashion shows to the next level.

The runway was adorned with pretty pale and candy coloured balloons for a start (and if that didn’t have you feeling like you were in Katy Perry’s ‘California Girls’ video I don’t know what would). Then girls began to promenade down the catwalk with bleach blonde fros, seriously blushed cheeks and incredible wedding cake like platforms. The sight was absolutely unbelievable. But the more time you had to focus on the extravagance happening in front of you, the more you began to appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that had gone in to each brightly coloured pinafore and cute kitten pocketed skirt.

Had we just fallen into the trap of seriously smart fashion marketing? Or was this a show that was genuinely put on to have us all leaving with childish smiles on our faces and heading to the local shop for a cherry lollipop?
