FAULT: Tell us a bit about how your dream to become a musician was born?
Anna: The night after I had been born I was screaming for hours to do my very first vocal exercises. In fact, I’ve always kept on singing since then. At the age of six or seven my brother and I started to invent some little children’s songs and when I was about 14 I realized that I’d always wanted to become a musician. At that time I had a heavy crush on Queen and Freddie Mercury. Well, my music is very different from theirs, but I actually owe them a lot. I don’t believe I would have started writing my own songs without those guys.

FAULT: Do you see yourself as participating in any particular movement of music and or style?
Anna: To be honest, I don’t see myself as participating in any kind of movement. I’m an outsider being focused on my secret plans of a revolution in pop music. If people want to take part in it, they are kindly invited to listen to what I’ve been creating for some time. If not, I really don’t care! My voice has been classically trained. Though I love singing opera, I feel like an alien in the world of classical music. Nevertheless, I truly admire Maria Callas. I wish Lady Gaga was as talented in music as Maria was – I mean I actually adore her stage outfits and her funny make-up…I’d love to be a blending of both of them … Moreover, I’d like to abolish Melodyne and Auto-Tune to keep certain people from recording songs … Yes, let’s start an anti-Melodyne movement!

FAULT: Tell us about your influences?
Anna: I guess I’m like a sponge absorbing inspiration like water. In fact, I listen to all kinds of music. If you want to read some names, I can tell you I’ve already been compared with Kate Bush, Klaus Nomi and Nina Hagen. However, I try my best to remain unique.
FAULT: Tell us a bit more about your new tracks?
Anna: My first EP shall be called “Silly Little Boys” containing five new tracks which were inspired by Dorian Gray, his buddy Lord Henry Wotton and a poor wannabe musician. However, I will no longer serve you with real tragedy as I did on “Venus Calls”, the last ShirayasDream album. My new songs are full of comical sarcasm and they are all suitable for the dancefloor, except one slow ballad sung in German and the last track “Take Me Home”. All in all, my tunes are very catchy and quite easy to sing along with – at least from my own point of view. Oh, I think I should mention that “Silly Little Boys” is going to be published on the internet at the end of this year!
FAULT: What has been your most memorable performance?
Anna: Maybe it’s the first memorable performance of my life: I was very little and my mum took me to a pediatric practice to check my health. The doctor asked me to sing a song for kids, but I began to chant an old German folk song about a girl dating a hunter in the heath. My grandma had taught it to me. Of course I was much too young to understand the contents of the song, but I sang it with an outburst of passion and my mum got more and more ashamed. She blushed and tried to stop me. However, I would not let her keep me from singing. After we had left the consulting room, the people in the waiting area were applauding!
.
FAULT: What are you looking forward to for the future?
Anna: Sex, drugs and alien pop! Yes, it’s my destiny to compose new songs and spread them. Some day I will certainly be paid for all this work I’ve put into my humble musical revolution. I will give concerts on different continents, still polarizing with my voice, my lyrics and my overwhelming arrogance. In private I will live in a beautiful house by a lake, sharing my life with someone to love me even though I wonder if this person actually exists … I really don’t need millions on my bank account to be happy, but I will definitely make good money!
FAULT: What is your FAULT?
Anna: As far as I remember I’ve revealed it before in my interview about ShirayasDream: I can be very impatient and emotional! You might hear it in my voice …
