South Central : The Moth featuring A Place to Bury Strangers
South Central
South Central are the Brighton-based duo of DJ’s Rob & Keith. They formed in 2006 and started off with a series 12” bootlegs and remixes for artists such as Metronomy, Klaxons and The Whip. The band started a buzz with-in internet circles originally and soon caught the attention of industry greats such as Eddie Temple Morris and Pete Tong who began playing their tracks on air.
The group eventually began creating their own material. Their singles; ‘Castle of Heroes’ and ‘Golden Dawn’ made their way onto video games and tracks ‘Aeon’ and ‘Revolution’ were used for commercials. The group then started up their own label Egregore and released their first album of remixes ‘The Owl Of Mineral”. With each new release came more critical acclaim and a larger fan base.
South Central began touring with artist; The Whip, Does it offend you yeah in support of The Owl of Minerva release. The twosome was then asked to be openers for Pendulum and Prodigy on their UK , Europe and Japan tours. Though they where on the road most of 2010 they managed to produce new remixes. They reworked tracks from acts such as; Prodigy, Crystal Method, Toxic Avenger and A Place To Bury Strangers.
Their much-anticipated full-length debut artist album Society of the Spectacle was released this past Tuesday. Their EP includes collaborations with Gary Numan and Pendulum. The band has just released a new single The Moth featuring FAULT favourite A Place To Bury Strangers. Definitely worth a listen. South Central are FAULTS ones to watch in 2011.
