For years, fashion and beauty devotees the world over have turned to Chanel for the latest trends. These days, the famed French fashion house has gained an almost cult-like following due to its uncanny ability to produce the season’s hottest colors in nail polish form. Since the release of “Jade” in Fall 2009, Chanel has consistently produced a batch of limited-edition nail polishes that sell out almost immediately after they are released. This season is sure to be no different. Peter Philips (Creative Director of Chanel Makeup) has unveiled a collection inspired by the “lustrous, natural beauty of pearls,” hence the collection’s name: Collection Les Perles de Chanel. The collection’s stand-out hue—aptly titled “Black Pearl”—has been dubbed the Spring 2011’s “it” color. Joining “Black Pearl” are two more limited-edition polishes: “Pêche Nacrée” and “Pearl Drop.”
To celebrate the release of the brand’s Spring 2011 Makeup Collection, Chanel has launched a brand-new website: Chanel Makeup Confidential. The interactive, user-friendly site features exclusive video content, including in-depth interviews with Peter Philips, backstage beauty looks, and a how-to video by makeup artist Lisa Eldridge featuring products from the new collection.
