Future FAULT = The Night Beats

The Night Beats are a 3 piece psychedelic group hailing from Seattle Washington. Members are Lee Blackwell, James Traeger and Tarek Wegner. Blackwell and his drummer band- mate James Traeger moved to Seattle from Dallas and Austin Texas.  The two have been playing together on and off since high school. Lee’s earlier band White Light Fever were persued by Columbia Records.  Traeger drummed in B.B. Mercy, but left them over “creative differences”.

The band are in their early 20s, but their influences lean towards artists of their parents’ generation:  Magic Sam, The Velvet Underground and 13th Floor Elevators.  Blackwell and Traeger are also fans of contemporary acts such as The White Stripes, The Black Angels, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The group has shared stages with The Raveonettes, The Black Angels, The Warlocks, Warpaint and MGMT. The Night Beats will be touring with The Growlers and playing at Austin Psych Fest this Spring. Their Ep H-Bomb is definitely worth a listen! Ones to watch in 2011.
