Milan Fashion Week 2011: Fendi

Four looks from Fendi's Fall 2011 collection.

Silvia Venturini Fendi is quoted as saying that her muse for Fendi’s Fall 2011 collection was “a buttoned-up-to-the-neck art teacher who was still wild enough to wipe her paintbrushes in her hair.” This image is a perfect fit: Classic staples like the Mary Jane were transformed with bright, bold hues, while a collage of sable, fox, chinchilla, and mink looped around the neck like a wild, untamed scarf. Bold frills pinned to the front of plaid blouses were combined with knee-length skirts boasting elastic waistlines, creating a structured yet lived-in look that anyone—not just wild-at-heart art teachers—would be more than happy to wear.
