Elle Fanning + Rodarte
It would appear that Elle Fanning is on her way to becoming Hollywood’s next It Girl. After landing a leading role in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere, Fanning is set to star in yet another film, this time for Rodarte. Designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy have teamed up with director Todd Cole and the band Deerhunter to produce a short film entitled “The Curve of Forgotten Things,” starring—of course—Miss Elle Fanning.
The film has Fanning sporting a golden pout and looks from Rodarte’s Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection. Inspired by their childhood in Northern California, the Mulleavy sisters’ collection pairs a suburban ’70s vibe with uncomplicated precision, which is a far cry from the label’s previous designs. Although it may seem strange to some to see a 12-year-old donning dresses created for women, Elle manages to pull off Rodarte’s mature designs without losing her youthful, ethereal appearance.
Backed by LMVH, the film will premiere exclusively on Nowness on Tuesday (February 8, 2011).
