.FAULT: What is your creative background?
.
Eva: In 2007 I graduated the International Fashion School ESMOD in Munich. In addition to my training, I was a student at Emanuel Ungaro, (Palm Beach,USA) and Abaeté (New York, USA) and attended courses at FIT New York and Central Saint Martins. My own label „ [ep_anoui] by Eva Poleschinski“was founded in July 2008 and focuses on attention to details and individuality. For me it’s very important to combine exclusivity with youthful freshness. Characteristic for [ep_anoui] collections are sequined fabrics which are own designed and produced in cooperation with an Austrian embroidery firm. Each season has a certain theme but always very much inspired by natural elements
[Ep_anoui] = “bloom”
.
FAULT: What inspired you to take a career in fashion design?
.
Eva: Pretty much my passion for materials, craftsmanship and creativity were the main reasons to become a fashion designer. Since I was 12 I’ve never wanted to do something different.
.
FAULT: Can you remember the first piece you designed?
.
Eva: It was a hand painted silk dress for my Barbie J I did when I was like 8..FAULT: Can you sum up your designs in 3 words?.Eva: Classic- artsy- exclusive.
FAULT: How has 2010 been for you?
.
Eva: 2010 was an amazing year for my label and me as a designer; I presented my collection twice during Paris Fashion Week, had great shows, amazing publications, photo shoots and freelance jobs for example the Milka & Vöslauer Campaigns.
.
FAULT: Can you remember your first muse?
.
Eva: My grand mum—–she had an incredible sense for style, materials and details. I still love wearing her pieces in combination with modern fashion items.
.
FAULT: Who is your current muse?
.
Eva: My surrounding…..
..
.
.
FAULT: What has been your main inspiration for your S/S11 collection?
.
Eva: The [ep_anoui] S/S 11 Collection “ash to ash-dust to dust” was inspired by the main world religions seen through my eyes. White stands for the purity and innocence of women. Each of the contrasting colors symbolizes one of the five religions while the sequined fabrics show a synergy of abstract symbolism of all religions and the flow from one into the other.
.
FAULT: Do you have a favorite piece from the collection?
.
Eva: It’s hard for me to name one single look from a collection as a favorite piece. As a designer every single design has to be outstanding but is also part & necessary for the whole collection.
.
FAULT: Are you inspired by your surroundings?
.
Eva: Of course—–that’s probably the biggest source of inspiration.
.
FAULT: What for you is exciting in the industry fashion today?
.
Eva: For me fashion is kind of a mirror which reflects the personality of the wearer.
.
FAULT: Who is your ideal client?
.
Eva: Someone, who is style & fashion orientated, has respect for the creative work, trusts me as a designer and is willing & able to pay for the design.
..
.
.
FAULT: What can we expect to see from Eva Poleschinski in 2011?
.
Eva: DEFINETLY A LOT! [ep_anoui] is going international! Vienna & Berlin will be strongly connected; collections will be shown again during Paris Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week in July 11 for the first time as well as MQ Vienna Fashion Week in fall. Beside that, I’ll catch every chance to bring [ep_anoui] and me as a designer to the next steps—-Never know what’s coming up but always ready for new challenges!
.
FAULT: What is your FAULT?
.
Eva: My fault is that sequins got shrunk.
