FAULT: How was 2010 for you?

As of today I still can’t believe the year is almost over. There’s a competitive aroma in the air and standing out as a photographer meant working my butt off, amping-up my game, bringing in new clients and working with some great creative talents like (stylist, make-up & hair artist) Lisa Schuil &(new media Designer) Ludwig Geerman. Some of my best work this year was due to the outstanding teamwork and our mutual respect for each other and our passion for photography, fashion, and the arts. I must say, it’s been a fruitful and satisfying year. 2011 bring it on!

FAULT: Where are you based? are you inspired by your surroundings?

My roots go deep in the dutch capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Born and raised there I now live in Rotterdam. This upcoming year I’ll be moving back to Amsterdam.
If by surroundings you mean the Netherlands, “YES” I am most certainly inspired by this beautiful place I call home. But most of all it is an eventful history filled with inspirational and tragic stories.

FAULT: What are you currently working on?

If you count pre- and post production and teaching myself new things, I’m always working. Sleeping and playing computer games excluded. Next up on the list is a commissioned project shooting 3 male models for an agency in Amsterdam. And after that a cashmere collection shoot for an international brand.

FAULT: How would you describe your photographic style?

I would love to say iconic, but I’ll have to get back to you on that later

FAULT: Do you have a work ethic?

I focus on the shoot that i will do, collect a lot of inspiration, sometimes sketch what i have in mind and work on that as a starting point.
Discuss what i have in mind with the people i work with and discuss possibilities and pre plan what i want to create.
I tell the models what i have in mind and also show examples of the look and feel that we are after and when it is actually time to shoot, everyone involved knows what is expected and has to deliver. What i try to do is let it be a great day for the models and also my team, so they have a certain energy and you can tell when you see the photo’s.

Overall my goal is in the time that has been given, create something AWESOME that i am proud of and want to share it with the world.
